mit New Pacific Studio
The New Pacific Studio provides an interdisciplinary space for artistic exchange and experiment, and acts as a resource center for information on contemporary Pacific artists, writers, exhibitions, and book/arts festivals. The Studio also promotes collaborative projects between schools, museums, and libraries, and seeks more representation in North American and European museums for the contemporary voices and stories of Pacific indigenous and migrant peoples.

Dr. Kay Flavell writes: As author of books on George Grosz (Yale Univ. Press, 1988 ) and contemporary American satirist Robert
Cenedella ( in press),  I have a long interest in art and social activism. I first met Marina Prüfer in the early 1990s, and  invited
her  to participate in two Pacific Bridges Workshops at the University of California at Davis  (1993) and at the University of
Melbourne (1997). I also collaborated with her  and the Atelier für Kunst in Bewegung in a Berlin Kunst- Olympiade in .... I applaud the vision of Der rote Teppich,  creating a visible sign to symbolize the power of art to overcome violence.  One day I hope the Bunker in Pallasstraße will function as a sign of peace, not war, and really benefit the community around it.
Berlin artists are invited to consider applying for residencies at our two centers in New Zealand and California.
